Trying to source this seal and to find a part number from Timken or SKF or any other manufacturer. I'm hoping that someone here has replaced that seal and has a part number. I don't mind paying the price from Introcar, it's the wait. The shaft size is 1.75 (measures up at 1.749). OD of the housing that the seal is pressed into is 2.497 The seals OD is 2.502 I'm going to run around town tomorrow, and I may find something if I'm lucky. Old seal is hard and when I push on the lip, it cracks _ its had the biscuit. |

I am not at my shop to look at the box for my "extra one" (I installed the first one backwards ), but you can go here to look up SKF seals by dimensions. http://www2.chicago-rawhide.com/popup_parts_lookup_457010.htm Richard |

Thanks, only one basically came up, it has a double lip, the number on that is 17353. I would still be curious of that number though. http://www.skfextranet.com/catalogs/457010/sealdetail.asp?s=17353

Jeff The double lip is generally not a problem, the outer lip keeps the dirt out, the inner lip keeps the oil in. Measure the width of the seal, to see if they are the same, it should fit without an issue. Fill the space between the two lips with grease, keeps the outer lip lubricated. CBC Bearings would normally have that size on the shelf. Regards David |

I used this seal from Simply Bearings in the UK: 1 x 1.75x2.5x0.31 inch Viton Rubber Imperial Double Lip Rotary Shaft Oil Seal with Garter Spring. It cost £12.77 last year. I hope this helps.
