Forget the steering column, the machine must have had areas end hit.
The offside mounts have sheared off, the two under the rear wheel arch, floor area behind rear seat buckled and bodged repair at rear of wheel arch. Feeling a bit angry to the people who sold it even more so the the butcher who repaired it.

I have seen a repair panel for the spare wheel stowage. but nothing else. Is the shell stiff enough to cut out the area and belt the bejeezus out of it?

Line 1, is that "arse-ended"? It sounds like a vehicle suitable for rebodying as a special.
