fwd floor panel that carries the seat mounts, question is are they flat in profile? I can see it's curve laterally but mine curves up at the rear, the car of course.

Any solutions?

SS Saloon R-Type delivered November 1952 in the UK.
I’m not certain from your post what problem you are experiencing Peter. Can you be more specific.

Peter, the seat runners are supported on blocks which should compensate for any small irregularities in the floor surface. However, I have looked at my floor profile which is an H series HJM Mk VI and I wouldn’t say th that the floor rises toward the rear of the runners. Is your car original or has it been modified?
Martin

It just occurs to me that the floor panel may have been removed for clutch work. As there are umpteen
(rusted in) pan headed set screws to remove, the remover may have wrenched at it in frustration, thereby bending it.

Yes, it seems the most obvious as there is a crack in the panel after removing the gunk. Wires have been butchered too so some work is due

Are these floor screws BSF? If so it's the rocking horse poo syndrome I suppose

Yes Peter they are BSF but they are easily available.
I replaced mine with stainless steel to make it easier to remove in the future.
It took me all day to remove the floor as a lot of the screws were rusted in.
Soak in WD40 or similar for a couple of days and then use an impact driver to loosen them.

1/4" of the same, loads in the UK, screws that is.

They locate into a square nut in a sheet steel square and the rust causes turning, so lub the threads well and "Dremel" the slots.
