Wayne, This nut is RH thread and it is going to be very difficult to get off. Usually the radiator is removed to get at the gearcase. What you must not do is put the car in gear with the hand brake on and pull like hell with a socket and long breaker bar. That would very likely put a twist in your crankshaft, and the torque you will need will probably slip the clutch anyway. Take the nut off with impact. Proper tool is a slogger bar, and an impack wrench will also do it, but if you go in through the front with a long extension that will reduce the effectiveness of the impact wrench. Think you should start by removing the radiator. Good luck.
