Gents,

Please see photos of the Dickie Seats on my 20/25. There is next to no room for an adult to get their legs in place let alone sharing with a 'Dickie'.

Does anyone have a view on whether these have been modified or are they just poorly designed?

They seem completely functionless to me. Can someone enlighten me please?

Please ignore the grubby carpet...its on the list. Sigh.

Theo,

I think these are foot rests for children or height challenged adults whose feet don't reach the floor.

They certainly do not qualify as "Dicky Seats" IMHO.

Fairly typical as I've seen these before.
Better than sitting on the floor!!

They are called occasional seats.

Christopher,

"Occasional" says all that needs to be said..........

In any case, using them here in Australia would probably be illegal anyway due to our occupant restraint laws which mandate seatbelts for children/adults and special restraint "capsules" for babies and safety "booster" seats for toddlers and small children.

So I think we all agree they are useless. I cant understand why anyone would pay actual money for these white elephants.

As I plan to redo the seats in leather in the next 12 months would it be heresy to ditch them? or do they hold some historical value or relevance?

Theo,

In the true Rolls-Royce tradition; your car - your decision.

Thanks Dave - That helps. Endlessly.

Actually, I'm much more comfortable with the term 'Occasional' rather than Dickie. It felt a bit of a stretch to refer to them as Dickie Seats.

So thanks Christopher for pointing me in the right direction. I think they can stay now that they aren't usurping the title.

Excellent, it is all part of the story of the car.

Chris, yes occasional seats is correct term. Think of them more as a function of a small stool rather than a "seat"
