Bother the LCD Tele stopped working at six years old.
No power red light just the flickering green when remote used.
Rebooted with no luck!
No red light no codes!

A quick look at new types, how things move on!
And less costly.

Anyway last evening had a few spare moments and thought I would take it apart.

Checked the power into the board etc all ok,
next a check on connections out to the LCD screen, and the last one was the prob, this is what I found, just like many of the electronic cars failings.

Should be like this:

A good use of contact spray etc and reassembled the TV and all is well.

Power board and connections.

Patrick 6 years on a TV and you fixed it. That is amazing. I would have cracked it with baseball bat.

A few years back here in Queensland retailers were offering 3 months only warranty.

I recently bought a TV with a DVD being part of it. Naturally, made in China which I translate as F**ked when new, the DVD would freeze contantly. I took it back to the shop and 6 weeks later, they have replaced the DVD inside the TV for free. YAY

Australia once made TVs which lasted 30 years. Naturally, they had to be stopped.

My 1976 Cadillac has a computer running its EFI. In a Cadillac forum I read that these computers are really nifty at starting a fire which then burnt a number of USA mansions to the ground.

I am going to remove the computer, install a Holly carby then throw the computer in the air and blast it with a shotgun using buckshot.

Thats the only way to go!

Vladimir, you are right the old TV we had lasted 20+ years and we only replaced it because of the electric it consumed.

Patrick, the repair had a good test last night with my wife watching the soaps etc all night long.
Very rewarding!

We had no TV when we were kids. I did a recent survey with my siblings to find out if any of us felt that we had missed out as a result and the response was a resounding, unanimous "No" from all 29 of us!

One has to find some other source of amusement when a TV is not available Omar!

Larry, 29?
Does that mean extended family, or like the Brady Bunch?

The breeding of 29 Irish would be far more interesting than anything on commercial TV so Larry missed out on nothing.
