Found an old paper. Price One Shilling. Maybe readable if I fiddle with settings. A few facts and figures Need a good pair of glasses or better still a magnifying glass! |

Gents, We have a government site called Trove. It has scanned newspapers from our libraries since the mid 1800 up to the 60’s. I’ve found so much family related items here. https://trove.nla.gov.au Plus any make and model of car ads since their invention. Just search the words you are looking for. Some of the ads in the papers from the 1800’s are just fascinating. The very early watch ads are one of my favourites. Plus all sporting from days gone by as well. Here are some examples You can see just the section with the words you searched for, or view the whole page. Viewing the whole page is where you will find some great ads from the day. https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/48367079?searchTerm=Rolex%20watch&searchLimits= https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/37634028?searchTerm=Rolls%20Royce%20for%20sale&searchLimits= |

Yes - Trove is a real treasure trove especially if you are doing family research. It is amazing what you can find - most good but sometimes a "skeleton in the closet" also comes to light. Warning - it is definitely addictive and you will lose all track of time once you start. |

Cripes its all there, really interesting reading on many topics. As one says time flies when you start searching and where it ends up is another story. Is there a UK type of version? |
