It is a two seater tandem configuration T6 Harvard training plane. Many were later converted to 4 seater light planes, by a company in Southend on Sea. Cordialement ADB

That's a T-6 "Texan", a WW2 fighter trainer. My lovely wife sent me up in one for our 10th anniversary. They put me in the front seat, took me up and walked me through air maneuvers like a loop, barrell roll and a Cuban eight. Best time ever. A fun plane to fly. |

Low cloud today, the Merlin engine was in full song, this was the Hurricane snapped on the circuit. Thought the plane was a little low on finals.

Are the wings clipped on this Hurricane ? I think all Merlin engines were grounded recently due to some engine components---- faulty materials. They must have sorted the problem out. I think maybe a one off failure. The old warbird guys are getting super careful because of bad press and stotage of warbirds. |

Bob the wings are clipped but some later Spitfires do as well. The wheels retract inwards, Spitfire outwards. Spitfire IMO better all round style. Photos taken yesterday from home nr RNAS UK. |
