About 10 years ago I brought a rechargeable torch. The instructions said it could be left charging continuously. I leave it in my workshop connecited to the charger. When the workshop it not being used the main power is off. If the mains is turned on the torch is charging. Today the bulb went. So I fitted a new one. I was surprised to see that it has a sealed lead acid battery. I assumed it was ni-cads. 10 years is a long time for a lead acid battery. It's lasted that long and still going because it's never flat. The makers name is Jonlite. It cost £10 from aldi. It goes to show that with care the lead acid battery will last much longer than 4 years. |
