Please place a hold on Easter 2007 [6th – 9th April 2007] for the Shadow Register Federal Event. This event is not restricted to Shadow or derivative owners and all members wishing to participate will be welcome. The theme for the event will be aviation to honour Charles Rolls involvement in this field. The event will be based in South-Western NSW to facilitate participation by Eastern State members and hopefully some of our West Australian members may also be able to join us [I intend organising a separate event in W.A. at a later date]. The main activity will be a visit to the Temora Aviation Museum for their Easter Flying Display which should include one and possibly two Spitfires as well as other historic aircraft from their collection. The mission of the Museum is to fly their aircraft whenever possible rather than having them on static display. Other activities should include hot-air ballooning at Canowindra, a visit to the Japanese Gardens/WW2 prison camp at Cowra, a “Concours D’Inelegance” – a fun event where the owners rather than the cars will be judged for their pursuit of excellence in sartorial creativity and a movie night presenting a classic B&W film with a R-R and aviation theme. Relevant information will be posted here and booking forms will be sent to each Branch for inclusion in their monthly journals. |

At the suggestion of intending participants, it has been decided to defer this event till September 2007 to co-incide with Cherry Blossom time and to avoid accommodation problems due to Easter and school holidays. Watch this space for more information. |
