More information about this movie - looks to be a hoot..........

Car of Dreams full film! Movie starring a beautiful Rolls-Royce car in this charming romantic comedy. Cool girl falls for a Rolls-Royce and attracts the attention of millionaire playboy! He pretends to be a chauffeur and they end up falling in love!

The Rolls-Royce in Car of Dreams is a GSF53, 1935 Rolls Royce 20/25 Drop Head Sedanca Coupé by H.J.Mulliner, body 4238, delivered to G.R.L.Tilley.

In this romance, a poor girl spends her spare time window shopping for pricey goods. On a lark, she goes into an auto dealership to price a Rolls Royce. She feigns outrage when she learns the car has already been sold. She petulantly demands that she be sold that particular car. Her feisty actions are observed by a wealthy playboy who immediately falls in love with her.

Much to the shock of her parents, who own a small antique shop, a brand new Rolls is delivered right to the front of their shop. Her mother goes to the dealer and demands to know who bought the vehicle for him. The dealer tells her that her daughter "won" it.

Of course, it was the playboy who bought her the car on the sly. When at last they meet, the two fall in love. They encounter difficulty when the playboy discovers that she works at his father's musical instrument factory. He must conceal his identity to avoid scandal, but it cannot be avoided.

The truth comes out and it is a while before the couple can get back together. Romantic comedy (also known as romcom or rom-com) is a subgenre of comedy and slice of life fiction, focusing on lighthearted, humorous plot lines centered on romantic ideas, such as how true love is able to surmount most obstacles. In a typical romantic comedy, the two lovers tend to be young, likeable, and seemingly meant for each other, yet they are kept apart by some complicating circumstance (e.g., class differences, parental interference, a previous girlfriend or boyfriend) until, surmounting all obstacles, they are finally united.

A fairy-tale-style happy ending is a typical feature.

Romantic comedy films are a certain genre of comedy films as well as of romance films, and may also have elements of screwball comedies. However, a romantic comedy is classified as a film with two genres, not a single new genre. Some television series can also be classified as romantic comedies.

Car of Dreams is a 1935 British romantic comedy film directed by Graham Cutts and Austin Melford and starring Grete Mosheim, John Mills, Norah Howard and Robertson Hare. A tycoon's son falls in love with a woman who works at his father's factory. It was based on the 1934 Hungarian film The Dream Car.

The film was shot at the Lime Grove Studios in London, with sets designed by the art director Alfred Junge.

I really enjoyed watching Car of Dreams.

One thing that I hadn't seen before was the Car Mart Ltd showroom which features in the film. My 1938 Rolls-Royce Wraith WXA68 was ordered through Car Mart by Mrs Tennant at the 1938 Earls Court Motor Show after she saw WXA22 on a stand. The original HJ Mulliner/Car Mart plate is still in place as per the photo.
