Hi Barry. There were two price increases in 1974. Original price was £12,450 GBP and it increased to £13,120 GBP later in the year. Bentleys were always slightly less money than the equivalent Silver Shadow as the cost of producing the Bentley radiator grille was less than that of the Rolls-Royce. Kind regards, Chris Browne | ||

Redbook shows the Australian price of the T1 and Shadow of 1974 as identical at $37,750 (excluding taxes and registration costs) and the Mercedes-Benz 450SEL at $24,255 (also excluding taxes and registration costs). The Holden Statesman De Ville of 1974 was $6087. The T1 cost from 1974 indexed for inflation equates to approximately $247,942.46 in $AUD2009 figures. Interestingly, the Glass Guide lists the TI at $44,259 for 1974. They give no indication as to the inclusion of taxes etc. Regards, Brian |
