Dear sir
I am in the process of purchasing a corniche hard top the owner says it is a 1975 model but the rego says 73 is the date stamped anywhere on the body so I can put my mind at rest, any help appreciated. Regards, Rick

Rick,
The chassis number will determine exactly the year of manufacture. For right hand drive cars manufactured in 1973, the chassis number should be in the range CRH14500 to CRH17500, approximately.
A 1975 car would be in the range CRH20000 to CRH22500, approximately.

In reply, your chassis / serial no of 14319, would make this car a 1972 model.

As a matter of interest where on the car is the chassis number to be found?

The chassis number is found on a cast plate on the firewall, inside the engine bay, on the side where the brake reservoir is.
