Trying to repair my cruise control for months, I change the bellows, look at the vacuum solenoids cleaning and oiling, testing relays, and everything except the electronic unit, looking for awnsers at the posts here,the workshop manual etcc. Well, I was thinking in changing the electronic unit, when observing at the wiring diagram I found 242 top gear pressure switch, (at the transmission, that dont let the cruise engage trought a relay if you dont drive in the top gear) Disconect one wire at this switch and.....Cruise control working perfect.... But, I am asking if this switch is only for engage the cruise in top gear only or have another function else. My car is SSII 1979 US espec. If somebody have a similar problem, and this can help for dont waist the time like me, I hope this can help. Regards from Spain Julián |
