While returning from day cruise, SMOKE from under hood into cabin ! Engine off, towed home, inspection revealed #6 gauge wire was burnt from alternator to junction box, other wires were also burnt. Replaced wires, junction box, and now the only way to activate starter is alternate push button starter wire connected to starter and hot lead wire to electric pump. Starter and petrol pump, air conditioner, electric windows etc. are not activated by the key switch. What am I missing? Blown out sensor? Key switch? This is an 1969 Park Ward 2dr SS. Thank you for any help, summer cruising is coming.
