Now the cat is really out of the bag!.I do believe that, when stretched, a well known U.K expert uses these very kits to "fix", among other things,"Audi/VWs" etc., in his "Quick-Fit"(Exhaust style) shop; "In" by Eight;"Out" by Noon. Due to deterioration(contamination) or incorrect installation/poor maintenence etc., I suspect that they need to be periodically checked for TENSION, even though it doesnt say so on the rear of the packet or in (any) workshop manual/s. DONT leave your home (or caravan) without one!

So TRUE, especially with the now defunct,cheap, 944 model which consumes rebuild kits at an alarming rate and they are the heavy duty kits too!. I suspect you would get an M.O.T on Delboys "Reliant" quicker than on one of these curiosities which are for rather obvious reasons, largely ignored.
