1986 USA Spirit

Going to check all fuel pressures and need to remove the WUR electric plug but it seems I may need to remove the A/C compressor to get at it. I'm thinking I can disconnect the bolts and just roll the compressor to the left for clearance.
Anyone done this?

I have a cold start (open loop) issue to track down, Could be nothing more than the Auxiliary air valve (check first) as no increase in RPM when cold starting but very rich (black smoke) until engine warm. Runs OK warm. but rich still.
Still want to check WUR pressures and all other pressures.
Low mileage overall may also be connected to the WUR.

I'll hook up my dwell meter to the Lamda injector leads to see its duty cycle. I understand there is a way to adjust this in closed loop mode but I'll have to look that up

Going to do a general KJet check up on everything. Doesn't look too difficult for the checks except for getting at the WUR

To continue-
Adjusted the idle air bypass allowing more air in (higher idle speed) but the idle speed didn't increase very much but the very rich warm up got much better.

Did a full pressure check of the fuel injection system and have found that my WUR is low on warm running pressure thereby causing some rich running at cruise and low gas mileage.

As this is a California delivered car it has a -093 altitude compensating WUR instead of the much simpler -088 that all other 1986 USA SZs came with. Have found a rebuilt one and await its arrival. More after its installed

-093 WUR in and working fine
86 has it mounted under the A/C compressor
Much smoother idle.
Average highway (75 MPH) MPG 12-13 per US gallon

I used K-Jet Specialists in Australia
Here's the website-

https://k-jet.biz

They treated me fine and the WUR works great

I used the altitude compensating WUR the -093 one
