During this period of confinement I have been considering removing the body of my 1953 Hooper SW to get at the chassis for painting and some repairs to "outriggers" The front wings are off and the engine is on the bench having just been rebuilt. My questions is,should I brace the body or just lift off as is? I have a two post lift so removal should be fairly easy  | ||

Trevor unless a Body is absolutely perfect (and I have yet to see one that is and especially if it has timber framing), I would definitely ensure its structural integrity before removal. I have no experience with RR or B , but have seen many other car bodies removed. Mark | ||

Being a Hooper body there is very little timber used. The B posts are cast ali and very strong and the body seems very rigid | ||

If you can lift it by its body mountings or planks under the mountings, it should be O.K. (Message approved by david_gore) |
