Hi Lads (Ladies too), Its springtime at my place.... meaning I can no longer ignore that sagging feeling when I'm behind the wheel. After too many oversized posteriors (not mine I'm sure!) imposing themselves on the drivers seat it has finally given up the Ghost  I have managed to reposition most of the springs to good effect, but there are two springs that have actually snapped. Has anyone here had good experience in purchasing such springs? I have no idea about size or gauge and any advice or thoughts would be most welcome. In the meantime, I wish you all a brilliant start to 2021 with lots of motoring, restoring and fun. Thanks in advance for your help on this and in arrears for all the great advice over the past 12 months. | ||

Theo, You might have some luck with the following Sydney-based wire spring manufacturers: https://www.qualitysprings.com/ https://www.jubilee-springs.com.au/ http://www.bettersprings.com.au https://www.pattinsonsprings.com.au/ Hope this helps - especially if you can take a complete spring with you. I would have two new complete sets of springs made for your front seats as most of the cost will be the setting up of the forming machine[s] to make the spring. If luck is on your side, the still-intact original springs might also fit the rear seat and could be kept as spares. I always expect "Murphy's Laws" always apply in situations like this if you only replace the broken spring and not the complete set for the seat involved. You can almost certainly expect another coil or more to also break shortly afterwards. . | ||

Upholstery supplies firms may stock these, just measure the wire gauge diameter with a micrometer. (Message approved by david_gore) | ||
