Jolly excellent article Michael. I would definitely prefer my Camargue over a Mercedes Coupe too and I have worked on many Mercedes Coupes and there were no different mechanically to the sedans. Also, even when new the auto transmission were a headache for even the dealers with all the specialised tools and the in house transmission specialists used to tell me that the Turbo 400 transmission way way superior to the MB auto transmissions in that the GM unit only used 6 valves to the MBs 60 and that the MB unit was way overcomplicated and it underperformed compared to the GM unit.

The Benz Coupe had beautiful lines though but is vastly over priced.
