Hopefully someone will put a much more erudite exposition on the festivities of 4 May. My mate and I raced down to Sydney (some 200 miles for our foreign correspondents) had lunch in the Royal Automobile Club of Australia and toasted the 'inaugural' luncheon meeting between Royce and Rolls and raced back to Canberra. Quite mad but good fun, good people and a good atmosphere. We were favoured by the company of two foundation members and over 90 other enthusiasts. Reportedly there were about 60 each attending similar functions from Adelaide due East. Thanks to all the organisers who got us off our posteriors for such an event. I will not however attend the bi-centenary!
