My 78 Shadow II oil and water gauges both read low - water stays below the white 'normal' section even after a long run - does anyone know why this might be (thermostat is ok - heater works fine etc.)

Do the gauges share a common earth or live feed? Are the sensors easy to check/replace?

Suggestions greatfully received.

Hi Chris,
I have a 1980 SS2 and have had my local Auto Electrican have a look at a similar concern of mine. He had a device that was able to check the guage reading so as to match the sender unit reading. The result was he replaced the sender unit( from a mass produced vehicle ) and the guage normal reading is now half way in the white section.
I can not comment on the oil guage. Cheers
John
