My drivers door capping has flaky lacquer on the top caused by rain.

I stuck gaffer tape to it and pulled the tape off after 15 seconds and the lacquer came off and stuck to the gaffer tape.

A completely safe way it cannot damage anything. And it's very quick.

The rest of the capping is ok so a quick rub down and feather the edges with care then hit it with 9 coats of clear coat. Clear coat aerosol 500ml 4 quid. So nice and cheap.

Also if nails are hammered into the table so that they support the bit to be painted off the table by 2" then spraying is much easier. Like a bed of nails.
