Does the steering idler ever require oil changes or top up. If so, where do you check the level, and what is the correct lubricant?
Thanks Mark

All info in Section N ofShadow 1 w/shop manual. The idler comes under N39 (linkages) It is not a normal requirement to top up, but it does have a plug, Pas oil. If you decided to remove from car, make sure it is refitted exactly as it has slots where securing bolts are, This is to adjust track rods for suspension bump/rebound.

Thanks Gordon, I will check there is oil in the idler, as I bet it hasn't been checked in the last 38 years.
