Have just replaced road tyres on my P11 93TA and noticed one of my wheels has three broken spokes. Has anyone any advice on a source of these spokes and perhaps a reputable repairer in Australia. I am happy to replace them myself if necessary. Best Regards, Peter Toet. | ||

Hi Peter, Suggest you talk to a local motor bike restorer or classic Jaguar/MG owner for information on reputable wire wheel repairers close to you. Peter, 3 spokes are no big deal. Remove tyre and tube. Fit wheel to axle without tyre and tube. Fit 3 new spokes. Tension till they sound like the others when struck with spanner. Spin wheel against a pointer to confirm truth. Plus or minus 1 mm is excellent. I have done loads of bike wheels it is a straight foward spanner job. Spoked wheels are strong and also flex a bit adding a bit to the suspension. Have a go and you will wonder what all the fuss was about. (Message approved by david_gore) |
