Gents.

I'm sorry to say my brother was killed Sunday afternoon in a freak accident on his property on the south coast of NSW.
It involved a roll over of his tractor on a hilly area.

I will be commenting on your posts when I can.

Just want you guys to know I'm not ignoring them.

Patrick,

If it is any consolation, he lost his life doing something he loved on land that meant everything to him.

My family always brings forward a Welsh proverb at times like this and I would like to share it with you and your family as we have found it to be of great comfort:

The Welsh are sad when a baby is born as it is entering an imperfect world; the Welsh rejoice when a family member dies for they know their family member has gone to a better place.

Remember the times you spent together with gratitude, these memories will be with you forever.

Dear,
Ross, Richard, Geoff, Brian, Vlad, David & Omar,
Thank you so much for your kind words.
It really means a lot guys.
Seeing the accident site and trying to make sense of it all has been a dawn to dusk thing for me today.
After much measuring and plan drawing, I think I have understood what has happened.
We are also waiting to see what the doctors say, to see if there was something that caused this terrible thing to happen in the first place.

My Brothers name was Jim and he was 7 years older than me.
He was the one who got me interested in cars as he always helped my dad work on his own car. He started an apprenticeship at 15, so at 8 I was into everything with him, including his first car an early sliding window Morris Mini.

I also started an apprenticeship at 15 and was thought by him.
He was quality driven, and never took short cuts.

I so much enjoyed working with him for 12 years, before he made a move to a lovely place called Narooma on the far south coast of NSW.
There he grew a very successful business doing plant & automotive work.
Here is his pride and joy. A V6 diesel 300C which there are not many here in Oz, as everyone wanted the V8.

He was having a break from work with my sister in law a couple of weeks ago.
This is one of the last pics taken of him
(Except a funny one)

Tragically they employed 2 new mechanics who was to start on the Monday so he could take it easy from work and spend more time with his cars and the 4WD club that he was heavily involved.
I will miss you mate.

Sorry Patrick, my condolences to you and your family, life must feel very difficult and depressing at present.
I have lost my Father in Law and God Mother recently and a friend sent us a card with a philosophical message which seems harsh at first, but is in reality true and deep and certainly made me think :
" Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain ".
It was very appropriate as both my wife and I are ex professional dancers.

Patrick,

What an awesomely beautiful photo of your brother sitting in a magnificent location enjoying the best life can offer:

Serenity, Peace and Happiness - what more can a person ask for in this life?

Patrick...
So sorry to hear. A long illness is tragic enough. The suddeness of "here today, gone tomorrow" only adds to the grief. Stay well through this unexpected trauma. I am in vigorous agreement with Brian that the pleasant memories will always be there.

Patrick,

I'm extremely sorry to hear about the death of your brother.
I can only try to imagine your loss but it probably doesn't come close to how you must feel right now.
I'm sure you'll treasure all the good memories you have of your brother and that he will never be forgotten by all the people who were close to him.

I wish you all the necessary strength and courage to cope with this sad event.

Patrick, despite the troubled times we now live in with the widespread inhumanity shown by certain people in our world; there are a far greater number of people who continue to care and show humanity at its best to those around them especially when they face adversity or the loss of those near and dear to them.

The response from our forum members to your loss has been sincere, immediate and widespread from all parts of the world for someone whom most have never met. However, they have felt your and your family's loss as if it was their own and responded accordingly.

I am very proud yet humbled to be part of a group which I believe epitomises the best that individuals can do for the world at large and sets an example for those we associate with to emulate.

Pat,

The photo of your brother Jim enjoying his coldie on the beach is unreal- that's where I want to be in life. With the Shadow parked safely nearby, of course!.
Southern NSW is real pretty- I've toured down there several times.

I echo David's sentiments.

Hope you and your family are ok.

Thanks Nick,

Getting through it.

He loved his Chrysler 300C being close by, and just hated that his son in law called it a Valiant LOL
His choice of 4WD was his Nissan Navara which was also his mobile inspection vehicle for live line trucks.
He just changed trailers depending on where they were going.

Yes it is a great shot, my sister in law took it 2 weeks ago.
