1990 Mulsanne S. The active ride light illuminates intermittently. I have cleaned the plugs & sockets under the bonnet identified in the service manual, except the throttle position switch*, using switch cleaner. This morning I looked for plugs on the bottom of the front damper but could not see anything that was obviously a plug and I didn't want to force anything or try to separate the lead from the damper. I have attached a photo and would welcome any advice. I also switched off the battery for ten minutes. Many thanks. Darryl * My logic. A fault with the the throttle sensor wiring would show up as an engine fault plus it's quite inaccessible. |

Appears to be a connector under the round cap. The main connection is likely the small square junction box. Many pry open. Check what a new component looks like, ie, does it have a "pigtail" coming out of the top? |

Looking closely Introcar's picture of the damper it would appear that the lead is integral with the damper so only has plug at end of the lead. Active ride light still intermittent |

That's what I figured. The lead going into the shock is a permanent wire that unplugs under the square housing. Corrosion may very well be evident in there due to it's location. All 4 should be opened, cleaned, and protected. |

I had look this morning and the rectangular block with three leads is a moulded (silicon?) unit and does not open. I am reluctant to open the the round caps at the top of the damper unless I have to. I have ordered an ECU that was fitted to the same model as mine from a breakers yard that I have used before. As we say in the UK fingers crossed. |
