my car start to vibrate at 70 mph, you feel your back vibrate, the same everything is on passanger seat starts to vibrate. Mechanic says could be transmission axle unbalanced. Tyres are new and balanced. Running at high speed in the highway the car is inprecise and unstable, i have to correct it continuously with the steering. if there is a road depression than the car comes up inprecisely moving the front left or right. Drive it over 70 mph is a nigthmare. |

Hi If this is a recent development ask yourself "what has changed" since you last drove the car and fix that. If this has been a continuing issue, that car needs to be put on a car lift and thoroughly examined underneath, to check for anything that is loose before driving it again. Regards David |

If you changed tyres, and that's when the problem started, I would suspect that. There's been a few posts on here and the North American forums about tires that are balanced, but are out round that cause this problem. Move one tire from the front to the back on the same side and see if it improves or stays the same, if no change, then put that back and do the other side. If the behavior changes, but doesn't necessarily improve, then that would point at the tires. Also, easy enough to check all the bolts on the drive shaft and make sure all the UV joints are tight _ grab ahold of them with the car blocked up well out of gear and no park brake on to check. I don't suspect it's the drive line, as that doesn't really effect the steering so much. Also, if the Clouds and S Series are still running brass lug nuts with left hand threads on the left side of the car, some kid with an impact wrench may have buggered the nuts up from over tightening them, or tying to put a left handed nut on the wrong side, or vise-versa. Easy enough to check; jack the car up and put some muscle into moving the wheels in and out, there should be no movement of course. If things check out, take something heavy like a cinder block and check for out-of-roundness. I would not drive the car until you know the lug nuts are OK. EDIT: I went to Flying Spares and checked on the lug nuts, they are indeed brass and one set is left hand threaded. |

Hi I thank God for you are there. In Italy none is professional about this cars. I ve visited already three technicians without solving. The tires are new and perfectly balanced. I suppose that vibration is a separate issue from drive incertainess. It could be something loose in transmission chain. Vibration disappear over 90mph speed. Separately it should be there a front suspension issue, or steering linkage slacken. We have already overhauled the steering box. The car has got complete engine overhaul, complete exhaust, steering box, and breaks overhauled. |
