Hello, I've locked myself out of car -'76 Shadow. All doors locked + boot, keys in ignition. No spare or key no.. Anyone got tips on how to open? Ever hopeful, Oliver |

These cars can be jimmied open, and your local police and/or locksmith should be able to assist with that. It's also possible to buy a lock jimmy tool from Amazon (and other sources). Brian |

Two feet of blue box strapping (sometimes called hand strapping). Fold it in half. A little blue tack in the crease. Push it in through the window frame. You can 'steer' it over the lock button. The blue tack provides grip on the lock button |

Thanks Mark, This is certainly one simple way to open the door with minimal damage. |

Thanks for replies. I managed to find a locksmith who picked lock - only took about a minute. |

As a matter of practice, I always have a spare key made and hang it under the car with a piece of copper wire (no rust). Fortunately, I have never locked myself out of any car or lost keys. No worry there is always a spare underneath. |
