I've been the owner of SCII SWC.672 engine 336.CS since I bought it from a Vince O'Connell in Byron Bay NSW in 1985. Vince indicated in 1985 that his father, Vince O'Connell Senior, was an early owner of the vehicle.
I have the orginal R-R delivery docket which was addressed to Motors Ltd of 30-38 Flinders St, Adelaide and is dated 23.11.1960.
It states that it is to the order of R & J Park Ltd. The only reference I can find on the WWW to R & J Park Ltd is a firm in Chiswick, London who was a export agent for Rolls-Royce.

I'm belatedly trying to trace the ownership of this vehicle and was wondering if there is a source of this information available from The RROC of Aust or any other place.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Roger, I suspect this info is not very useful but perhaps....
In about 1977 I was walking home in Shaws Bay Ballina when a guy offered me a lft in his Cloud - not sure I, II or III.
The guy, as I later found out was Jack Easter, an earlier state member for Lismore (?)
His daughter Marg still lives in Ballina- with a bit of detective work I could find a contact.
I also heard -but never saw-of a Cloud in Lismore at around the same time owned by an insurance agent - in fact I think the number plate was AMP1

Thanks for that info John but I don't think it's the same car as the rego number was VOC 1 when I bought it.
My car is Sage green/smoke green.

Roger

SCII Chassis SWC 672

I am afraid you may have misinterpreted some of the data you have on this chassis. No doubt R & J Park Ltd would have been the shipping agent.

This chassis was produced for use in Australia to build spec PL 9062 with some special fitments and painted in Valspar 173/15746 Smoke Green and 173/15749 Sage Green. It was originally built for the stock of Motors Ltd, Adelaide.

The car was delivered From Crewe on 23/11/60 to S.W. No 1 Gladstone Docks, Liverpool. It was shipped on 2/12/60 on “SS Neleus” direct from Liverpool to Adelaide.

On 1/3/61 Motors Ltd sold the car and the guarantee was issued to Adelaide Television Sales Ltd, 135 Rundle Street, Adelaide.

On 11/11/61 Motors Ltd again sold the car to Wilckens & Burnside, Norwood Parade, Adelaide.

Neither Adelaide Television Sales Ltd or Wilckens & Burnside had owned a R-R or Bentley before, or since this chassis.

Certain records indicate that this chassis SWC 672 was sold and the guarantee issue on 13/1/61 but this is incorrect and I believe that someone mixed the records up with chassis SWC 676 which was also produced for Motors Ltd. The guarantee for SWC 676 was certainly issued and the car sold on 13/1/61.Both cars were produced in the middle of a batch of 8 to 10 cars for Australia, Canada and the USA.

I hope the data may help you to establish the full ownership record.
