Good morning Brains trust, I am having some issues with the central locking on my 87 Spirit. has anyone done work on theirs themselves, and if so is it a difficult process? I am NOT the most mechanically talented individual to begin with. My issue is that the car un locks, but when I lock up it mostly doesn't lock all of the doors, and sometimes wont unlock them all either. sorry if that's all a it vague. |

Hi Graham It's simple to work on , one solenoid pulls lock one pulls unlock. Possibly just gunged up. Mike |

Graham, I had locking issues with the driver's door. The striker pin needed very slight adjustment. Not quite as straight forward to diagnose as one would think. Open all doors then shutting one at a time check central locking. Regards, Darryl |

Just remembered there is a modification in the service manual. A piece of pastic tubing is fitted over the cranked end of one of the actuator rods. Can't remember which one. |
