Just maybe, car was parked on a downward slope to the post shop, car started and engine stalled spheres depleted no brakes driver in panic pumping brake pedal without restarting engine, car in runaway mode------

Obviously it was an angle parking spot that was marked "rear to curb" and he could not be bothered to turn around the other way
