i have paid $30,000 for full mechanical repair on my silver shadow which took a year to complete at a "specialist" after collecting it and a few champs.i was on my way home with my lovely car when after an hour and a half driving the oil pump light came on so i stopped and contacted the"specialist"we towed rr back to perth and i have not seen it since due to a dispute between chellingworths and "specialist" over who was negligent this has been another year of frustration and as lawyer costs are huge i am wondering if some one out there can help?

Gary, Except for a handful of people in Australia,I unclip my holster whenever I hear(locally) the words "specialist"/"expert" or (worse) "world authority" and have sorted a few of these types out in my time. I assume that oil light illumination WAS (proven) caused by loss of oil pressure. What is/was the alleged or suspected cause of insufficient pressure? 1/ Insufficient(correct grade etc.) oil in sump. 2/ Loss of oil due to major leak/s. 3/ Correct qty./type, oil in sump but oil pump failed?. If the latter, was it the oil pump driven gear which failed, as have several such NON-genuine gears fitted to R-RV8s and legal actions have ensued in those circumstances as a result of consequential damage etc. I have prepared many briefs/statements of facts etc., for lawyers in relation to quality of repairs/restorations incl.overcharging / and fitting of "bogus" NON-genuine parts involving R-Rs. If you wish, please call me on 03 9 589 1516 after which time I may need you to e-mail certain documents/correspondence as generated to date. Depending upon the time involved I probably wont even charge you as I take to this kind of work like a duck to water. PS; Leave message if I am out. |
