Nice one Michael!! I actually saw this stuffed camel in real life. The owner is a really nice man who loves cars just like we do. He has a warehouse that is fit for royalty (he being a member of our royal family). In this warehouse are many amazing cars both modern and collectible - lots of Rolls-Royces, Mercedes Grossers and Bugattis amongst others. He is a really nice young man who loves cars. I asked him - why the camel? He said that this was no ordinary camel and that it was worth millions of Dirhams when it was alive. In fact it was worth more than many of the cars there. So when it died, it was stuffed and put with the very valuable cars. |

That is a fantastic pic Mike. Great find. What a great story Omar. The gent from the royal families collection would be a great thing to see that’s for sure. Of course seeing the camel in the flesh would be great as well. |

I assume it is/was an ex-racing camel. Why else could a camel be extra-valuable? (edit: For breeding, of course.) And why would two humps be better? Alan D. on Christmas eve. |

This was no ordinary camel. He/she was huge and perhaps had its value more for breeding than anything else. The cars in the collection were amazing. A few hand built brand new zero mileage Mercedes supercars that make the McLaren SLR look like a common car. |

Alan the reference to the two humps reffered to Omar, not the camel. Richard. |

Now we are all showing our age - no doubt the younger generation may not understand what we are referring to. I just wish we all still participate......... . |

An old friend of mine used to say to me "Patrick, it is a bad day when you find out for the first time that you can't do it for the second time, but keep the faith, because it is a worse day when you find out for the second time, that you can't do it the first time!" Wishing everybody a Healthy, Happy and Fruitful 2018 (in that order!) |

Patrick, How true however there is a follow-up: You have reached maturity when you know "No" really means "Yes" - you just have to use a different incentive . |

"Sigh, put the kettle on for tea." Robert, I hope this doesn't mean "not before, not after but instead of." I hate to even think of this eventuality . . |

I'm very sentimental so park the old model round the back. The new model used for long distance in top gear! |
