Timeline woke the old girl from her winter slumber, battery been on trickle charge fired up straight away. Went through all the 'pre flight' checks and found both seats and mirros were non responsive completely dead Went for a run and on return the following had changed Drivers seat All adjustments working ok but no memory facilty Mirrors now adjusting Pax seat Only the recliner and front height adjustment working. all others not working No memory Looking a various sites it appears that this can be cured by a replacement battery. Which was obtained and fitted in the pax ECU (reasonably easy once i had figure everthing out!!) Refitted ECU no change!! Tried to remove the drivers side and noticed several differences Pax has a spare 12 pin? socket coming from the ECU, cannot see any associated place to plug it on seat Drivers seat Has the 12 pin socket BUT is connected to something Also there are three wires coming out of the ECU which appear to be earth wires as they terminate on the seat chassis It has been noted that swapping the ECU should disclose any faults, but i am loath to do this because of the additional earths that are not on the Pax side. Also i will also go along the route of attempting to check the manual working by installing a relay and amending the (8 pin round?) connections The relays in the ECU appear to click ok when all the switches are operated as well as some clicking from the innards underneath the top roll Are there any relays under there i need to look at? Any thoughts appreciated Ron |

Did you reset by doing the 3443 code? Or was it 4334? In any case you dial that in the memory pad and the hell brakes loose with the seats going up and down. Afterwards it should work. |

Lluis no further forward. but i have noticed the following As the ECU is out of its case i found the following this evening On the PCB there are 12 relays numbered RL1-RL12 operating the switches i noticed the following (pax side only not done drivers side yet) operating the fore/aft switch relay 12 operates both fore and aft no movement of seat operating the rear squab switch forwards relays 2 and 5 operate squab does move operating the rear squab switch backwards relays 5 and 6 operate ditto Operating front height switch up relays 3 and 6 work Front does go up/down operating front height switch switch down relays 5 and 6 work ditto operating the rear height switch up relay 12 only no movement at all up/down operating the rear height switch down relay 12 only The next thing to try is to 'manual operation not via the ECU. In the meantime has anyone else had and cured this problem? or have I a got an ECU that is FUBAR and will cost me plenty, or is there anyone that could repair it without me taking out a second mortgage? |

Hi Ron, It sounds as though there is a fault with the ECU. We get them all the time. You can't manually test the seat unfortunately. The extra plug is for mirror functions. The earth leads are just two ways of getting earths. Later ones do not use the separate earth wires but are interchangeable. Swap left to right and if all is then OK, send it for a repair or an exchange unit. We usually have a few in stock. EverythingRollsRoyce.com Replace the battery in the good unit. These are a service item that most often get forgotten about. Have a look at https://www.facebook.com/pages/EverythingRollsRoyce/480142005358985?fref=ts for some photos of battery damage. |
