I have owned a few Rolls-Royce / Bentley cars in my time and have noticed something special about cars that have black interior. Admitedly I only have 2 examples to draw on (not enough) but perhaps others can support my hypothesis. I think there is a unique smell associated with cars that have black leather interior. The smell is not the same as cars with any of the other colours. The closest non-black leather smell I have had was an S3 that had burgundy interior. Is there anything different about the black leather that Connoly used for Rolls-Royce/Bentley cars? |

I will speculate that, because the black absorbs heat so well, it emits more odor than other colors; this could be true for all the darker colors. |
