My son has recentley purchased a 1981 Spirit but the no 1 brake pressure warning light does not come on. It lights when cranking and so I assume the switch may require attention . however, I cannot locate the switch !!! It is not near the wiper unit as on my 1987 car. Any ideas please ?

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark, They moved them around like they should be secret or something.

Under the car between the rear subframe and the body, or on the floor under the car on the early ones. ( Maybe ) There are similar items under there, so go for the ones with the wires on.

Hmmm unless, of course , the light is not coming on because the wire is off - in which case . . . . .

Well I'm sure you get it! LOL.

See G11 of http://rrtechnical.info/sz/sz80/g.pdf . The switches piggyback the priority valves on early cars.

Paul,Richard
Thanks for the advice,we have now located the switches at the back of the car.The wires appear to be connected(I am slightly surprised !) so will get the car on axle stands and investigate further at the weekend .
