Hi B148MD is beginning to show slip in the starter clutch. I have read through the manual a few times but is there anything else I should know before ordering the discs and stripping it down? Many thanks for any assistance. Carl |

Carl If I were in your place I would examine the starter drive before ordering any clutch plates. The clutch pack drives through the outer fingers of the starter drive “shell”, these fingers are made of thin sheet metal tend to break away from the shell body. Although the clutch plates may be worn you would be wise to examine the shell and associated parts before spending out on the expensive clutch plates. You will almost certainly need a special D50908 fibre washer to complete the job

Thanks Norman, That's exactly what I needed. I was hoping to do it all in one day so I will buy a rebuilt one and then explore the cause of slip in this one. I love the feeling of spares on the shelf. |
